Saturday Finishing Demos at Rockler Fairfax
No woodworking project is complete without an excellent finish, and we are here to help you do just that! Join us over the coming weeks for a series of finishing demonstrations. We will have 2 per day on the Saturdays listed below, each starting at 10 AM and 1 PM. There is no need to sign up and all demos are free!
February 22 - Application Methods
Learn the use of various brushes, padding materials and spray applicators and their proper use.
March 22 - Decorative Finishes
We'll discuss different types of opaque finishes available for wood projects. We will also talk about the use of glazes and aging/distressing techniques. and other surface embellishments. We'll also demonstrate examples of tinging products available at Rockler.
Dad & Me Class: Make a Cribbage Board!
Saturday, June 7th, 10 am - 12 pm & 1 pm -3 pm
Celebrate Father's Day with a hands-on woodworking experience that's both fun and functional! In this special Dad & Me Class, you and your child (must be 14 years or older) will work side by side to create a beautiful, two-piece cribbage board, complete with peg storage and magnets to keep it securely closed.
Choose your look: maple, mahogany, walnut, or cherry blanks will be available, so every board is truly unique. Perfect for beginners and hobbyists alike, the class includes step-by-step guidance from our expert instructors.

- Attendees will be using power tools—proper safety instruction and gear provided
- Class size is limited to 8 attendees to ensure a personalized experience
- All materials, supplies, tools, and safety equipment will be provided for each pair of attendees to make and take 1 cribbage board.
