Rolling Barn Door Hardware Kit, Stainless Steel, Top Mount for Wood Doors

Whisper-quiet ball-bearing rollers combined with the sophistication of stainless steel for a sleek, elegant rolling door.

This stainless steel rolling door hardware is one of those products that you have to touch and feel to truly appreciate. From the glassy-smooth ball-bearing action of the rollers to the heavy, solid extruded track, the quality and careful workmanship are clearly apparent, and will nicely complement the quality of the door you select or build. Rolling door hardware makes a great option where a traditional swinging door would be in the way or where swing clearance is tight. Each kit includes all necessary hardware to hang and guide a single door on a 78-3/4'' track—enough length to accommodate most interior doors. The roller straps are top-mounted, and can be used with wood doors only.

What is the widest width of door this hardware will accommodate? How much of the 78 3/4" length is available for the door to travel?
A shopper on Jul 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would say that you could use up to a 38" door
Are you able to cut the track bar to accommodate a smaller door area ?
Mazell on Nov 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I had a 30" door so needed to cut a portion off one end of the tube to even out the mounting plates. I used a plumbing tubing cutter and used a rat tail file to take the burr off the inside of the end to insert end cap. Good quality product. It allows space for 3/4" baseboard.
Can you use two kits together to have two doors converge together and completely close touching each other?
A shopper on Aug 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes
I only have about 1.5 inches above the door, the ceiling is very low, what would you suggest?
brian H on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think that is enough room for this type of kit. The wheels themselves are about 2 inches, and overall the mounting above my door is about 4.5 inches. You may want to look for a kit that would mount totally on one face of the door and no higher than the top of the door. That would not quite look as nice on the side with the mounting, but it might be a solution for your situation if you definitely want this type of sliding door.
Can this be used to create by pass barn doors?
Meghan L on Dec 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No. Only by parting doors. They can't pass one another.
can this be used for an exterior application?
MARK C on Nov 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Mark- I used this in a bathroom, so I have no experience with using it outdoors. It is stainless steel, and very beautifully made, and the only hesitation I would have with leaving it outdoors is what rain would do to the bearings. They sure work smoothly when new and dry, but how well sealed are they? Who knows?
Can I add a second rail and connector to the kit. How can I buy it?
Susanne T on Mar 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I could not find a way to do that, so I ended up buying multiple kits to get the length that I needed. A little more expensive, but mission accomplished.
What is the diameter of the main tube from which the door hardware hangs?
257176 D on Sep 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Well, I tried to measure it with a regular folding ruler and found that it looks like it’s just shy of on inch - it may actually be one inch, or perhaps the metric equivalent of a title less than an inch. In any case it’s probably more than 15/16. Does this help? This hardware is first-rate, no matter its dinensions.
So I can't tell from the photos or product description/specs, can you adjust the position of the rail wall mounts? Specifically, could I flip them 90 degrees to hang the rail from the ceiling?
Allen A on Nov 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No! The mount holds the rail close the the wall and wouldn't work from the ceiling. Also, the rollers would hit the mounts.
Is the finish shiny or brushed?
Laurie S on May 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is a brushed finish. We have purchased 2 sets. Very happy with them.
I have a door that is 2 1/4 " thick can this hardware work on a thicker than normal door?
shane c on Sep 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi. After hanging an interior door, 1-3/8" thick, I had 7/8" from the door to the wall. So I would say yes, however, depending on baseboard or not, that would determine if you need to center the top mount or off-set closer to the edge of the door.
Is the installation manual available online so I can be sure this will fit my door openning and the door I have?
buzzsaw on Jul 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if it is available online. I opened the box when it arrived and the instruction dimensions are metric. I had to order the door I needed and it has not arrived yet. When it does,I will have to figure it out for the install. Looks like a very nice kit. Seems to be heavy stainless and mounting hardware looks to be more than adequate for my solid core door.
Ok so here we go, in the over view it states that the rail is solid and than a person has described the way to cut the hollow rail to length so whats going on here ????
Jeff P on Dec 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The rail is hollow. Perhaps the overview is simply describing the steel as strong and trustworthy...
Is there a longer rail for this item?
Jackie on May 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry no, only the 78-3/4'' track is available in this kit.
