Make perfect joints with our Box Joint Jig and NEW Cauls!

Uniformly spaced pressure points clamp individual box joint fingers at the corners to give you the tightest joints possible. Simply align the pressure points with box joint fingers and tighten in place with one or more Rockler 1'' x 15' Band Clamp (#58432, sold separately). Slots on the outside of the cauls are made to hold pennies firmly in place to support your Band Clamps at varying heights. Plastic cauls stand 6-1/4" (1/4" Cauls), 6-3/8" (3/8" Cauls), 6-1/2" (1/2" Cauls) and 8-1/4" (3/4" Cauls) tall.

These cauls make box joint making much easier. In the past I had to make my own cauls in order to get the boxes to come together. I would like to see a set for 5/16 inch box joints.

I have tried several methods to properly clamp my box joints with success but much difficulty. Hoping this is more straight forward thus easier.
Walter B on Jan 23, 2018
I tried making my own cauls but cannot get enough pressure on the joints. It is tough to get really tight box joints using parallel or bar clamps. Using bar clamps instead of strap clamps sometime causes the boxes to have a slight skew and are either not square or twisted.

Michael J on Jul 16, 2018
Could the 3/8 work for most small boxes?
A shopper on Apr 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes if you are talking about joint size. I use 1/4 for most wood less than 3/8 thick. 3/8 for wood greater than
3/8 thick. I do not use 1/2
would these work for mitered corners as well?
corinne m on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They could, but with a mitered joint the partscan slide relative to one another when pressure is applied. I find that the Clamp-it assembly squares are more helpful with this type of joint.
