double sided Turners tape
I uses this tape on some of my wood turning projects when needed. It is extremely sticky and holds very well. The hardest part is getting the backing paper off of the tape!

It works much better than trying to use a clamp while drilling peg holes in the cribbage board.

Woodworking Experience:
Leave Extra Backing on Roll. Peel Backing First, then Cut Tape!
I use this tape for many woodworking projects and it works well. The trick to using it is finding a strategy for peeling the thin plastic backing. If you cut it off clean, stick it to your workpiece, and then try to peel the backing, it is a struggle. I leave extra backing on the roll, beyond where the tape ends. When I need tape, I peel the backing first, then cut off the tape I need with backing removed, leaving extra backing on the roll for the next time. I use it for router templates, matching cuts on the bandsaw and jigsaw, and woodturning. It is strong, so you don't need much for temporary uses. It comes apart if you work slowly, applying light continuous pressure, and don't force it. The tape peels off easily from hardwoods and MDF. I have not found residue, but others report that it comes off clean with sanding, a scraper, or mineral spirits.

Super strong, versatile
I bought this tape in 2017 for template work and woodturning and it's the strongest DST I've ever used. It's very thin and takes a bit of patience to apply, but I've never had a joint come loose after it adheres. The tape can be used for permanent or temporary assembly. Assembled parts can be carefully pryed apart and tape removal leaves and any slight glue residue is easily removed with light scraping. Since my purchase, I've used over 3/4 of the large roll, in the shop and for other DIY household uses. It really works great for inserting non-magnetic fasteners in tight spaces. Just apply a small piece of tape to the driver end, attach the fastener and insert the driver into the tight space, for loosening or tightening. After over 2 years of use/storage, the tape displays no discoloring or loss of strength issues. Tip: If tape is cut off evenly with the paper covering, it is sometimes frustrating to begin a new peel-away. I overcame this issue by applying the tape with the covering on. Before trimming tape underneath, pull off an additional 1/2 inch of covering as an overhang. Although you do sacrafice a small amount of tape in doing this, it will leave a starting point for the next use.

How easy is it to remove the adhesive from the workpiece after you're done?
gr8dane on Jan 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is quite easy to pull it off so long as you can get it started. DON't jab a screwdriver under it and ruin your
workpiece. The tape is quite stickily. Use another small piece of tape to pull on the tape o your workpiece.
It will stick to it so you can pull up an end. cheers!
What is the thickness of the tape?
Billy B on Dec 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Right off the roll the tape measures .013". When applied and pressed together it will be thinner.

does it have a foam backing?
A shopper on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No foam. It's similar to carpet tape but not as gummy.
I bought another brand. It was clear and thin like cellophane tape I am looking for what I am used to.a white tape somewhat thicker to you carry such a tape?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This tape is much thicker and is not clear. It holds strong. I use it to hold down templates for routing signs. Is a bit difficult to remove the backing from either side. I use an exacto knive with a very sharp blade for this.
Does this tape have any fiber in it or is it a smooth thin tape with only adhesive on both sides?
Thomas M on Jun 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There is no fiber in the tape. Just be forewarned that peeling the outer tape is very difficult. It has excellent adhesion strength, but i frequently avoid using it because i havent figured out an easy way to peel off the outer tape.
Where is it made?
Jay B on Jun 13, 2020
I am looking for double-sided tape for holding a template to a workpiece while cutting to final size with a flush trim bit in my router. Do you have tape for this purpose?
Greg S on Nov 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Greg, I found the tape to be very strong, should work.
