Very nice tools, very accurate and half the price of a Starret. These squares are way more accurate then the Stanley or Craftsman that I use for carpentry work, which are just fine for that level of work. But my woodworking requires a higher level of accuracy, and these squares deliver that accuracy. I am very pleased and highly recommend them to anyone needing to take their woodworking to the next level with out breaking the bank.

Seems like a few cents for steel knobs would be worth it
Both very nice, but the plastic threaded knobs take a little away from the quality feel.

Great Value
I spent 40 years as a tool and die maker and have squares from precision tool brands. That said I see only two things that keep these squares from being near that quality. First thing is that the slot for the scale is a bit wide, .012 wider than the scale as opposed to .004-.005 on my other squares. the second is more cosmetic and that is the ends of the scale aren't finished. You can see and feel grind marks on the ends which aren't there on the higher priced versions. All and all thought ti is miles above the aluminum head stamped scale hardware store versions and I would recommend purchasing these even for the novice user. Well done for the price.

Square Review
The squares appear to be very accurate. The only downside is if you try to re-position the rule in the handle it can be very difficult. For that reason I give it four stars. All things considered, I would still recommend this tool.

Let Down
Was super excited to get these. Got home and tested them out and where not in square. Had to adjust them. Quality of material is good. They need to spend more time on quality control at the factory.

Though I have 12 in squares from Fowler and Starrett, I need a 6 in with cast iron head. The one I have with an aluminum with a stamped graduation rule is a pain to use. The rule sticks in the head and is hard to slide. Since I can get 2 sets for less than a single 6 inch, I get a decent 6 inch and a gift set to boot. Good deal!
