Titebond Instant Bond Wood Adhesive - Medium Viscosity

These high-performance CA glues (cyanoacrylate adhesives) take just 5-15 seconds to set and 30-60 seconds for initial cure. For even faster adhesion, the Instant Bond Activator cuts set time nearly in half! Designed primarily for wood and wood products, these adhesives also provide strong, permanent bonds in a wide variety of materials and substrates. In addition, these glues come with a specifically designed pin on the top of the bottle to prevent the glue from drying and clogging when not in use.

Works well, cuts assembly time dramatically. Provides a quick bond, no clamping required. Even provides a good bond on ebony, after first wiping the wood joint with alcohol. I thought it dispenses a little too much glue for the viscosity, the nozzle could be a little smaller. Make sure you store in refrigerator for extended shelf life.

Best CA Available
I have been making pens for over 20 yrs. Starting with Crazy Glue, I have used almost all brands. I have been using Titebond for about the last 6. Not only is the closure of the bottle superior to other brands, but I am able to use all the product in the bottle, sometimes over almost 2 yrs. I use the Medium for crushed stone inlay in my pens and bowls. I use the Thick for securing the tubes in the pen blanks.

I have an intricately carved wooden panel, broken into many pieces. Most of the wood is intact, very small losses, so I'm using the medium viscosity. If the losses were greater and there were gaps I would use the thicker one.

]Will stain go on over titebond instant bond ?
Larry B on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Larry- I haven't used Titebond's instant bond for any of my wood projects yet. I use it for other applications. Best way to find out is to apply some on scrap lumber, let it dry and then apply your stain and finish. You'll find out immediately.

Will medium ca glue bond wood to stainless steel, like to a knife? And would it be a strong bond? Would I need to clamp it or just hold it in place?
Ken B on Oct 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Your best solution will be epoxy and clamping.
