Hi, I got the jig it deluxe concealed hinge drilling system. How do the holes in the guide (3-4-5-11mm) compare to the hinges that say 3/8 1/2 3/4" overlay...? Thank you!

BEST ANSWER: The numbers on the guide are indicators to the tab. The tab is the amount of material between the edge of the door and the start of the hinge pocket. For the compact hinges it is usually 3 mm.

I need 5/8" Overlay for my face frame cabinet doors. I would like to use the model number 90788 concealed hinge that you carry will this work? It says vairable ovelay from 1" to 3/8" in the description is this correct?
BEST ANSWER: That model may work for you but I would not guarantee it. I am a Rockler customer but they have a limited selection of blum hinges. I would recommend part number BH130.1100.26 for the 5/8 mounting plate. p/n BH33.3600 for the hinge. You may have to do a search for these part numbers. I hope this will help you.

I have the 3/4" thick cabinet doors. and they have a profile around the edge. How far back does the cup hole need to be from the door edge? If less than approx 4mm then the hole looks like it will cut thru the door at the profile. Thanks
BEST ANSWER: 3mm at the closest point. The depth is 11mm, which is just slightly less than 7/16". I believe these are pretty standard numbers for these types of hinges.

Does the 1/2" overlay mean that the cabinet door will overlay the face frame by 1/2" on the hinge side?
BEST ANSWER: yes normally if you want a half inch overlay you make the door 1 inch larger so you have a half inch all the way around

I have cabinets with 3/8" inset doors and would like to replace the existing semi-concealed hinges with concealed euro hinges. Will this hinge work for this application?
BEST ANSWER: Sorry no, if you have a 3/8" inset lipped door edge you would need to use http://www.rockler.com/salice-hinge-and-plate-for-3-8-lipped-face-frame-doors

I have 31329 1 1/4" overlay hinges. For ease of hanging door, it doesn't look like these come apart like some others. What is the best procedure for hanging the door? Install cup first? bracket first?
BEST ANSWER: I have tried both ways, and I think the best results happen when the cups are installed first. I have made spacers for the bottom of the door to make alignment easier. Good luck, Henry.

does blum make anything bigger than 1-1/4 overlay have swollen doors and need little more gap for closing
BEST ANSWER: blum makes overlay hinges up to 1 9/16 and you can buy them at woodworkers hardware

What should I use to clean my 15 y/o self closing hinges to restore their self closing ability?
BEST ANSWER: Try using a silicone spray or something that doesn't leave a residue like electronic parts cleaner.

Looking for a 1/2" overlay hinge like item Blum 55910 but only opens to a max of 95 degrees?
I currently have kitchen cabinets with 5/16" series 1 110 overlay concealed cabinet hinge, wraparound. This is a blum hinge and some are starting to fail. It appears that blum no longer sells the wraparound hinge and says to use compact 33 edge. Can you tell me what hinge I should be purchasing ?

The design is a good one...
The design is a good one but the manufacturing fails to support the design. The metal is soft and too weak. It is just pot metal and cannot be depended on for more than a few years. We have to have several on hand to replace them as they break. A sadly typical case of profitability over pride.Editor's note. Blum offers a lifetime warranty on hinges. If replacement is needed Blum can be contacted directly at 800-438-6788.

Easy to install, easy to adjust
After buying the right metric Forstner bit and jigs installation was a snap. Face frame alignment was simple and adequate. An overlay adjustment would have been useful but for the price its absence is understandable. Have been functioning perfectly. Self closing feature works fine.

Blum hinges
I use these hinges in my hobby shop cabinet work. Recently I led a group of church men to work on new orphanage buildings in Guatemala. Ease of installation, necessity to work quickly, unknown quality of locally available hardware and ease of adjustment led me to choose this hinge and take them with us. They worked great and the project is beautiful.

Easy to install, The most economical...
Easy to install, The most economical hidden hinge I have found. One pair hold a 20 x 32 inch raised panel oak cabinet door very nicely. I used them in a complete new house cabinet design.

Blum hinges are an excellent value,...
Blum hinges are an excellent value, and I have used them on most of my cabinet projects. When I have used other hinges, I have been somewhat disapointed.
