Dust Right® 2-1/2'' Expandable Shop Vacuum Hose Kit

Incredibly stretchy 2-1/2'' vacuum dust hose extends up to 12' in length, then collapses back into a compact stack for storage.
Item #
82% of 100

The 2-1/2'' diameter hose in this kit is made of an amazingly elastic, flexible polymer that stretches from approximately 2' to 12' in length. This allows you to reach most areas of your shop, without the hassle of a long, cumbersome hose. As you move closer to your shop vacuum, it retracts to take up excess slack, which helps prevent tangling and tripping. Thanks to the flexibility of the hose, coupled with the included swivel connectors, it won't kink or bind. The hose weighs 30% less than previous versions, and is offered in a blue translucent color. With the two included swivel fittings, it easily connects to your shop vacuum, optional Dust Right® accessories and many dust ports. Each swivel fitting has a larger end (2-1/2'' OD), which fits into the hose, and a smaller end (2-1/4'' OD), which fits into a standard ''Shop Vac.'' Two metal hose clamps are also included for securing the fittings to the hose.

Cold Weather Tip: Cold temperatures will cause the hose to contract. If you find the hose is too tight or stiff, try warming the hose/workshop.

(1) Dust Right® 2-1/2'' Dia. Expandable Hose (expands from 2' to 12')
(2) 2-1/2'' Hose Clamps

2-1/2" hose is just right
For my small shop, this hose is perfect. The 4" hose is overkill for a small shop, and the heavy-duty smaller hose does not collapse - and I do not want to put a hose reel on my wall for the latter.

Dust Right 2 1/2" Expandable Shop Vacuum Hose Kit
I have a small one car garage shop. This is a great hose to connect easily with multiple tools in my small area - miter saw, contractor table saw, router table, etc. great for clean up as well.

Super freaking awesome hose!
This hose is really fantastic to have. It stretches out to all of my tools with ease then contracts much smaller for easy storage. Plus, it's bluish see through.....what's not to love about that...huh?! It's a great addition to my shop. I'm going to have to get more when I have a fully dedicated stationary dust collection system.

Used daily
This hose is typically attached to my vacuum and router table but once I'm finished I connect it to the vacuum wand I made and use for clean-up.

Will this fit a Craftsman 16 Gallon shop vac? My hose measures 2 1/4"
Chuck on Jan 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It fits my Craftsman shop vac, which is only a 6 gallon. I imagine you'd be OK.
With the coil running through the hose, is the hose grounded or do I need to ground it myself??
kiarev on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is Not an urban myth. I am a retired Millwright and one of my jobs was to install commercial vac systems in our carpenter shops . Those large 6 and 8 inch pvc lines absolutely did build up a high voltage static diischarge during use. Our painters. came up with a special paint that cured the problem but they never told me what it was.I agree that the big commercial systems operate on a much faster speed than our home systems but take it from someone who has been zapped by static electricity that it WILL bite you !
How does the suction from this hose compare to a relatively fixed length hose? How much difference is suction between 2' and 12' ?
Curious on Feb 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Suction is very strong at all lengths of the hose. It was so strong when I laid it flat against a surface that my shop vac was pulled across the floor toward me.
Is there a reducer to make it fit a small 4 gallon Ridgid vacuum? It would have to go from 2.5" to 2.0".
Derek K on Aug 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I didn't come with a reducer. I'm sure you would have to buy that separate.
Can I couple two of these together to make a 24' hose? I am just using it for floor cleaning.
Boomer#1 on Aug 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have coupled 2 together and use the combination all the time for floor cleaning, jointer, bandsaw and, with a reducer, and Rocklers smaller flex hose and adapters use it for some of my hand tools such as a router.
I would like to use this with my Jet DC-1100 dust collector to connect to some of my stationary power tools that come with a 2 1/4" dust port. I've done this in the past with one of those rigid black plastic hoses that come standard with a shop vac. My question is will I have any problems with this hose collapsing while under suction?
David Z on Mar 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The hose will not collapse as it has a metal wound ‘spring’ as the backbone. It may however, shorten with sufficient suction.
Is a two and a half hose on shop vac good enough for a dust collection set up?
spankey on Apr 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: For most home shops, it would be fine if you are taking the hose from machine to machine. If you intend on a central dust setup, I would recommend the central hose a 4 inch connecting the 2 inch with the apprpriate central dust collector
Can I connect this hose to my stationary 4" dust collection system with a reducer? I just want to use it for floor cleaning but not using my shop vac.
Boomer#1 on Aug 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I'd suggest using a Dust Deputy with a 5 gallon bucket too.
Anyone see a reason I cannot cut this hose in half as I need two shorter runs?
Kevin O on May 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These can be cut as needed to fit your needs, I have cut several pieces to set up my dust collector
what are the ID and OD of each end of the hose? I want to fit it to one of my 4" ID collector pipes that my machines use.
Nicholas T on Oct 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Both ends fit a standard 4 inch x 2 -1/2 inch reducing adapter. This will work with both flexible hose or dwv pvc pipe.
Is the hose antistatic?
Dominick N on May 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: not entirely, but in my experience static attraction of sawdust or retention of sawdust on outside is not significant. I've been using it for something like a year and have no complaints about static electricity.
I have 3 drops from my DC that end in 2". Can this hose be cut and add the swivel fittings to reach the two machines that each drop is designed for?
Richard A on Mar 26, 2019
What adapters are helpful with this hose? I purchased it and it connects to my Dust deputy, but it will not connect to any 2.5 inch shop vac accessories (hoses, wands, etc).
Indywar I on Jan 10, 2019
Does Rockler sell tools to attach to this hose? I want to connect to dust collector pipe in ceiling and use for shop clean-up. I need a couple of extensions, a handle and vacuum attachments like Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Accessory Kit Item #: 52125 for the 1 1/2 inch hose.
