Dust Right® Wall-Mount Dust Collector, 650 CFM

By pairing an impressive flow rate of 650 CFM with a unique wall-mount design, this collector gobbles up dust at the source, without hogging up floor space. It mounts quickly and easily to the wall with a simple included Z-bracket. Plus, it's portable! Just set up additional Z-brackets (#21537, sold separately) around your shop to create dust-collection stations close to the tools you're working with. The comfortable foam-gripped handle makes transportation and setup a breeze. The motor features a sealed shaft and bearings for quiet, long lasting operation, and the inlet accepts standard 4'' hose. The collector includes a 30-micron bag with a clear window on the side so you can see whether it's full. A zipper in the bottom makes emptying a breeze.

Features:

  • Collects dust while conserving floor space
  • Can be moved around the shop with additional wall brackets (#21537, sold separately)
  • Includes 30-micron bag with a clear ''bag full'' window and zippered closure for easy emptying
  • Optional 5-micron bag (#20431, sold separately) offers finer particle retention
  • Optional Canister Filter (#53522, sold separately) filters down to 1 micron
  • There is an additional $25.00 shipping charge for this item.

The Dust Right Dust collector is a top quality product, my only comment is that the hanging bracket is not made of heavy enough steel.
Due to the cold snowy weather and a heater in my shop that does not work well unless the temps or in upper 20"s or more I have not been able to use it yet but hope to in the next few weeks.

Big improvement
Ran for 15 minutes and pushed all sawdust out of saw. Ran scrap 24x24 3/4" Birch plywood through Delta Unisaw 6 crosscuts and there was maybe an 1/8 cup coarse sawdust on table and front fence mount. No fine dust floating in the air. Inside of saw was almost spotless, just a little buildup in corners near air exit. Louder than hoped, but quieter than the saw. Was going to mount on portable stand, but too heavy and high-centered, so mounted on wall. Will put box fan with air-filter near bag, because fine dust gets through seams (less after the seam fills with dust. First time I've use the saw without a dust mask in 2 years without coughing after. Wish I'd done this long ago. Installation instructions good, but should note that minimum install height is roughly 42" for bag clearance. Grandson loved the vinyl window in the bag to watch dust blow in (I thought it was cool too).

I just installed dust right system from rockler store. This is a great unit for my garage. It’s very powerful and also the noise level is minimal. If you need a dust collection system for your shop or a garage and don’t have enough room this the way to go. I would highly recommend rockler dust right.

Unhealthful without canister
As a former air quality scientist I was somewhat leery of buying this with only the 30 micron filter bag. After buying it and running just a few pieces of pine the shop is filled with fine, respirable dust. I had much cleaner air with a shop vac and HEPA filter. The 5 micron bag should offer only minimal improvement in terms of protecting your lungs as respirable dust is generally considered to be as small as 0.5 microns. If your are using this to capture relatively big dust only you would probably be OK but your lungs will NOT be protected without the very expensive and optional 1 micron canister.

Can you plug this into a 10ft extension cord? I do not have an accessible plug.
Travis S on Jun 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Specs say 12 amps so an extension cord sized correctly should be no problem. Cord with 14 gauge wires should work for 10 feet although I always error on the safe side and would go with a cord with 12 gauge wires.

What is the db noise level?

Is this powerful enough to set up a hose system for several tools controlled with blast gates?
Daniel B on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Honestly depends on how you set up your system. If you put the blast gates near the unions where your main run branches off to eliminate un-needed piping you should be fine. Limit the amount of flex hose you use and stick to rigid lines. Should be ok if you only have a small shop with only 2-3 major tools plumbed in.
Will this keep up with the 1.75hp Sawstop?
Retiredguy on Jan 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Good morning Retiredguy,

While there are variances that COULD give you an issue - too many bends in your piping, leaks, piping or hose too small - the 650 cfm should easily take care of the dust collection for your Sawstop table saw.

Something to consider if you have other dust making tools would be to add blastgates for each tool for maximum vacuum. I have a small shop but between my table saw, drill press, scroll saw, sanders, router table and planer the 650 cfm Dust Right is more than up to the task.

I hope this helps answer your question and provides some info for other considerations.
