Can this be used with a vacuum bag?
Imran M on Aug 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can be used with a vacuum bag.
Is this vacuum pump strong enough to work with a lathe for a holding system for a turning project?
Brian on Sep 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use one for that
I'm from Australia, is the power 240 volts?, if so the plug i can change to fir our power points.
Kevin P on Sep 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. The pump motor voltage is 115VAC 60HZ only.
How loud is the pump?
What common appliance would it compare to in sound volume?
Aquasparky on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The vacuum pump is not a noise problem. My Delta dust collection system makes more noise that it does.
Is it on 230V or 120V?
JetCarrier K on Aug 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 120 VAC
Is this vacuum pump rated for continuous duty?
Dwight A on Apr 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Dwight, if you want a 24/7 vacuum pump, you probably should look for a commercial unit. My vacuum pump has not shut down during a cnc machining operation. If there is any difficulty, it is keeping the work piece flat enough so there is no release of the vacuum seal during a cnc machine operation.
can this pump be used as a pump for veneer press?
skeeter s on Nov 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not tried this. It would require buying a polyurethane vacuum bag. I have seen 0.030" polyurethane vacuum bags advertised online in a variety of size from $175 to $900. The price of the vacuum bag depends on the size of the project you will make. I have seen these in operation in a commercial custom furniture shop and they work very well, I hope this helps.
I have a very small work shop where I power carve. I need a small and quiet system would this be ok for me?
chris m on Oct 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This pump is not very loud at all. It is a vacuum pump so it's nowhere near the noise that a small air compressor would make. I believe your router will make more noise than this vacuum pump.
What is the max number of pods supported with the pump?
David A on Sep 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: On the clamp description, you will find this:
A maximum of four clamp pods may be connected in series with suction of 25'' of mercury (Hg). Use a more powerful pump or multiple pumps if you wish to use more clamp pods simultaneously

Since this pump generates 25.5" I would assume that the answer is 4. That's what I bought anyway. Haven't used it yet, so I don't know how good it is.
Would this system work well for a 24 x 48" cnc vacuum hold down table?
David B on Nov 28, 2017
If you have four pods connected to the vacuum pump, can only two be used if that's all is needed?
Billy W on Oct 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The pods activate themselves when you put the item on them. You can use 1 to 4 as needed.
