Sawstop Professional
I've been working with this for a little over a year, and it's amazing. It's such a great saw. Too many stories to share, but when it arrived, my two engineer friends came up to help me assemble it. They were so impressed at the organization and instructions that came with the saw, the step-by-step methodology--we had a great time. I don't think I even touched it once during assembly because they were having so much fun.

Woodworking Experience:
I have had the unit for a month+ BUT I have not been able to assemble because I'm waiting for the mobile base. It's poor marketing NOT to have the mobile base at the store so it could be assembled when the saw arrived two weeks after purchasing. I've been informed by SAWSTOP that the base will be shipped in THREE weeks last week. It's like going to your dentist and after he finishes the cavity prep says."The filling material is included in your fee but I won't have any for three weeks!"

Woodworking Experience:
Good quality for a small woodworking shop
First time buying a quality cabinet table saw. I am revisiting woodworking from younger years.

Easy to understand assembly instruction steps. After following instructions I was surprised to see everything was aligned perfectly when finished.

Only issue was needing wife's assistance to flip upright after installing mobile base. FYI, I suggest getting the mobile base and install while thing is on side on shipping crate. This thing is heavy if you intend to move around.

Woodworking Experience:
SawStop is a class act with a great product
I am completely impressed with this saw and also with SawStop and Rockler. I received my saw seven days after placing the order with Rockler. Additional parts that I ordered from Rockler at the same time also arrived within days. Once the saw arrived, I was impressed with the packing and initial instructions placed on the outside of the crate which described exactly how to begin the unpacking process. Additional instructions inside the crate clearly explained the assembly of the saw. Each part was extremely well packaged and labeled. For each major step in the assembly, the screws, washers, and other small parts were sealed onto a compartmented card with explicit labels describing the part and where it was to go. I have never seen such a well organized set of instructions and parts. As to the saw itself, the design, fit, and finish are virtually perfect. The only less-than-perfect part that I found was one of the cast iron extension tables that had a shallower beveled leading edge than the other extension and the main table. Otherwise, everything is flawless. Although I have had the saw assembled and running for only a week, initial testing has shown the blade to be set perfectly aligned to the table, and the fence. I have not had to make any adjustments so far.
On a final note, when I purchased this saw, SawStop was running a promotion offering a free mobile base or overarm dust collector with the saw. I had to receive the saw before I could submit the form to get a mobile base for my saw, and I thought I would have to wait for the base to arrive before I could finish the saw assembly. I was astounded to receive the base only 2 days after I submitted the form to SawStop! That is an example of great customer service.

It looks like the 30" has a third crank or handle on the side that the 36" doesn't. What am I seeing in the picture? Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: Hi Bill. There is a storage mount on the side of the saw for holding the riving knife, the blade guard, and the miter gauge. What you see in this photo is the miter gauge in the storage mount. I am certain that the 36" model also has this feature.
Are the tables and wings cast or stamped?
Paul J on Jun 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The table and two wings are cast and very accurately machined. However the 30 inch extension table and fence is a different story. It appears to be made of some particle board laminated with a very thin material that is easily damaged. I damaged a small corner of mine just trying to remove the protective tape. The fence system that comes with the 30 inch extension table is different than the fence and rails that come with the other size extension tables. Mine does not stay parallel to the blade throughout its travel. It is off nearly 1/16 inch when I move it 30 inches from the blade. If you have enough space, you might want to consider the higher quality fence that comes with a longer extension table.
What is the shipping weight of the professional sawstop? How many cartons does it come in & what is the weight of the heaviest carton?
D R on Jan 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Mine was delivered in May, 2019. Here’s what the bill of lading showed: PCS175 T 375 lbs, TSA-PFA (Premium Fence Assembly) 55 lbs. Two boxes strapped together for a total of 430 lbs. Yes, it’s a pretty heavy saw and it’s good that you are addressing NOW the issue of wrestling with it when it arrives. The saw box was 31 x 42 x 30 and the fence box was 64 x 16 x 8. The shipping company called and we worked out a deal. I live in the mountains a mile and a half off the county road so I agreed to meet their truck in the local hardware store parking lot and we slid the boxes off his hydraulic lift gate onto the bed of my Dakota. The long pole in my tent was getting it from my truck bed to my walkout basement sliding door. My Kubota B3200 tractor was the solution. We slid it off the truck bed on to the tractor front loader bucket and strapped it on. Drove it down to the door and put it on the ground. The box didn’t fit through the sliding door so I cut the box open and brought the saw in on a hand truck. Congratulations. You are going to love this saw.
What are the total dimensions of this saw? I need to know the depth of this saw see if it will fit in a spot in our garage that is 31 inches wide, it really doesn't matter how long the saw is.
Beck E on Sep 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My table top is 31 3/16" x 61 1/8". The rail handle adds another 7" if it matters. Height of the table top is 34" with another 5 " for the miter handle.
do I need a lift gate? what is a lift gate?
Alan W on Aug 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you need a lift gate if you are having the saw delivered to your home. The saw will be delivered by semi. If you do not have a loading dock at your home, there has to be a way to get the package from the trailer to the ground. At 350+ lbs, the lift gate is necessary to lower the saw safely from the trailer to the ground.
Are the 30" & 36" fences on the 1.75 hp professional the same?
David C on Oct 21, 2017

. In response to your request, our 30” Premium fence is actually very good quality. Although it doesn’t quite match up to the heavy duty feel of the T-glide (Beisemeyer style) fence, it has proven to be very reliable and just as accurate. The major difference is that the Premium fence is aluminum and only offered in 30”, so is much lighter weight and glides very easily due to the wheels. The phenolic face plates on the 30" are very thin, flat to keep the weight down, but are not replaceable. In comparison, the T-glide is thick steel and offered in the 36” and 52” sizes and has nylon slides. Due to the weight of the steel, the same wheels would not work on this set up. Although the larger T-glide style was based off the Beisemeyer, it has been enhanced and perfected by our engineers rendering a superior product. The laminate surface of the particle board core face plates on this set up are replaceable.
What are the power requirements for this 1.75 hp saw? Volts? Amps?
TreeTreeTree on Jan 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Comes wired form110, but can be converted to 220; I run mine on a 20 A circuit, often have another draw at the time (shop vac hooked to above table dust collector) & seems to have plenty of power.
Can I use a shop vac (6.5 hp) for dust collection?
W Clark P on Apr 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Check with Rockler to make sure they have the correct adapter - then it should work fine.
Does the saw need a special saw blade and is the blade usable after the blade stop is triggered?
Paul L on Feb 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Paul: Thank you for your interest in SawStop! If you activate the safety system’s brake, you will need to replace the brake cartridge and evaluate the condition of the blade for future use. Replacing the brake cartridge is simple and can take as little as 90 seconds to complete. A standard brake cartridge costs $69 USD and a dado brake cartridge $89 USD. SawStop saws are designed to absorb the force of activation and are not damaged by it.

With regard to the blade type, you can use any 10” standard-tooth steel blade with steel or carbide teeth can be used. Do not use blades with tooth “shoulders” (often called depth-limiting or anti-kickback shoulders), as these blades will take longer to stop in the event of an accident. Do not use blades with non-conductive hubs or teeth, as the safety system will not allow the saw to operate with these blades installed.
Is the Saw Stop T-Glide fence and rail system upgradeable to the 1.75 HP Professional table saw w/30 in fence & extension table model?
Steven G on Jan 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Steven G: Thank you for your interest in SawStop! In response to your question, our T-Glide fence/rails assembly is only offered on our 36" or 52" rip capacities.
Is the trunnion assembly mounted to the base or to the top?
ComfortMan on Mar 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Old Pro: Thank you very much for your inquiry. In response, the trunnion on the Professional Cabinet saw is attached to the cabinet.
The 30" #37115 model extension accessories. What is necessary to add the out-feed and the cast iron extensions as illustrated for the 36" table saw?
kdiddlehopper on Aug 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Good day, this model saw already has 2 cast iron wings. In order to get an outfeed table you can purchase from your Rockler store, it's a 30" outfeed table. Keep in mind the extension table to the right of the fence in the picture is not cast iron, but an MDF extension table.
